Hello Kids,

Hope all Mama Sylvia's kids are doing good this week! Jump in the car and make a couple of trips to see the boys:

Thursday May 14 - - Lexington NC - Alive After Five - Behind Lanier's Hardware on Main Street - We'll play from 5:30 til 8:30 Bring your chairs, adult beverage is available for this family event!

Friday May 15 - - Burlington NC - Relay For Life @ City Park - - We're honored to be back at this annual event. We'll begin around 6 PM! Please support the ACS!

Saturday May 16 is private . . . sorry!

Next Wednesday May 20 - The Speedway Club @ Lowe's Motor Speedway . . . . . approx 7PM?? Call for info 704/455-3216

The Latest

Hi Kids, here’s the latest!

2MS’s new ES-CD is scheduled for release on Monday June 1st!!! The name of the CD is “RED SUNGLASSES” which will also be the first single. It’s a fun, sing-along, party, bluesy, up-tempo tune that the shaggers are loving to dance to.

ES-CD???? Yep, it’s our way of invigorating the current state of the economy . . . . . ES-CD???? . . . it’s our Economic Stimulus Compact Disc . . . . Six new 2MS songs for $5.00!!!!!!!!!

Special thanks to Andy Smith and Jeff Scheible with GREEN DOT DISCS for the idea, inspiration and confidence to attempt another recording project. Our conversations, dinners, beach trips and drinks got the ball rolling last November. By December, 2MS started pre-production rehearsals at The Rock Shop Studio in Monroe NC.

During the Ides of March, we were able to record the 6 tunes at a very comfortable studio in Dallas NC called, TRAFFIC SOUND. With David Rhyne recording the tracks and co-producing this project, it was like the boys were kids again, playing and singing with a fresh approach to the MUSIC!!! THE MUSIC! David is the best and we’re bestowing the title of “the fifth 2MSer” upon him, whether he likes it or not!! And on a personal note he has the BEST Hammond B3, Mama’s ever played.

2MS took the old approach of recording . . . . . it’s all four guys . . . all playing together at the same time, just like onstage . . . . it felt great and David captured that feeling.

Steve sings RED SUNGLASSES, THE WAY IT IS and EARTHQUAKIN’. Eddy sings LOVE TAKES TIME and Rick sings, GOT IT IN MY BLOOD. Don just absolutely ROCKS, especially on Blood and The Way It Is!

Wait a minute . . . that’s only five songs!

Well, our old friend, Sugarcreek bandmate and charter member of 2MS, TIM CLARK, dropped in and sang lead on “ONE MORE NIGHT”, a tune that we had written in 1991 (but never recorded) along with another old bandmate, Lee Kelley . . . . as usual, he brought the “magic”, and if you don’t believe it, ask him!!

We’ll supply the RED SUNGLASSES, this summer, too!!! Hope you guys grab a CD, some sunglasses and enjoy the music. Gotta get them boys out da house now and go play some gigs!

Hi Kids,

Need an excuse to go to the beach this weekend . . . USE US! Mama's boys are gonna be at 2001 TONIGHT, FRIDAY MAY 1 starting around 9PM!!!

Sorry we'll have to leave you on your own Saturday as the band plays a wedding reception in Charleston.

Cary, our webmaster, has been working hard to help us get things changed around with a new webhost for the www.toomuchsylvia.com website . . . THANKS, CARY!! Keep her family in your thoughts and prayers with the recent loss of her Mom.

Also, Mama's cousin, Jamey, could use the same . . . . he's a star pitcher for Central Cabarrus and was the receiver of a line drive, that was way too hot to handle (aluminum bats, I'm NOT a fan) . . . he doing good after some pretty major surgery on that hard head (yes, he's a Lee!)

On the bright side, the Economis Stimulus 2MS CD is complete and ready for reproduction - - - The CD, RED SUNGLASSES and the first song release is the same name . . . we are pretty excited about this project and by June 1st it should be ready to go!!

Friday May 8 - Concord NC - Cabarrus County Relay For Life - Cabarrus County Fairgrounds - We'll play from 6 til 9 and Right Turn Clyde will play from 10 til 1 - - - Participate in this wonderful important event!!

Saturday May 9 - - Cherry Grove Beach SC - - HOTO's - 2PM, yes 2PM, don't miss this one, either . . . it's our first time, it's out back facing the beach . . . . . tough job!!!
