April 25, 2011, will mark our TWENTIETH year as TOO MUCH SYLVIA!!!

Highlights for 2010 include 2 songs from our "RED SUGLASSES" CD selected to 94.9 The Surf's Hall of Fame - - Love Takes Time & One More Night, which also claimed the #35 spot for the entire year!!! 

108 shows for us last year, which, for our calendar is a few more than we usually do. And that worked out just fine.

We are truly blessed to continue to do what we love to do!!

We lost a dear friend in 2010, Dave Fisher.  Dave was the manager for Sugarcreek from 1971 til 1990.  His insight and creative ideas were instrumental in getting Too Much Sylvia headed in a new direction in our early years.  We miss him everyday . . . God bless you, Dave, tell Gray, hello, for us . . . . btw, How Far Is Heaven?

This is GREAT news!!! TWO of our songs have cracked the Top 10 on 94'9 THE SURF's Top 40!!!  ''LOVE TAKES TIME" is #10 and our collaboration w/Tim Clark, "ONE MORE NIGHT'' is #6!!!!!  "RED SUNGLASSES" also jumped to #25 this week.  Thanks for VOTING at www.949thesurf.com and if you haven't, drop by, register and VOTE!!!

This past weekend we palayed a GREAT Carolina/Clemson party in Harstville, saw lots of folks that we had played for their parties and receptions, the past few years . . . and they were partying MORE on this night than they did back then . . . . . fun night , thanks Hartsville.  The Marlin in Garden City was a good one, too . . . . plenty of old friends and we played plenty of shag for them, too . . . . . but, you should've seen Joe, Edweena's victim . . . . he stole the show! 

Congratulations to all the Carolina Beach Music Awards winners on Sunday at the show at the Alabama Theatre in North Myrtle Beach.  A special shout to our pal, Tim Clark, for new artist of the year!!!

We are flattered! Our title cut from our "RED SUNGLASSES" CD has finally charted on 94.9 The Surf at #34!  But that's not all.  "LOVE TAKES TIME is #24 and ONE MORE NIGHT is at #22 after being #18 last week.

It's been a great summer!  LOVE TAKES TIME, hit #20 last week and ONE MORE NIGHT has been hovering in the 30's for two months.
A fun week coming up with stops @ Jillian's in Columbia, a party for Jeff & Teresa at the beach, The Marlin and HOTO's.  Wanna make a roadtrip this weekend?? C'mon!

On the Top 40 chart from the most popular Beach Music radio station, 94.9 THE SURF, for the week of June 20, 2010, we have TWO SONGS listed from the “Red Sunglasses” CD!!  #33 is, 'LOVE TAKES TIME' and # 34 is “ONE MORE NIGHT”!!!

Our 19th year and the an incredible month of May . . . a pleasant evening in Lexington, too bad the rain got us in Morganton, but the Blue Crab Festival was killer.  Pineville, Piedmont Town Center and Ballantyne Village . . . all Charlotte events and it's nice to be playing around the home base.

BUT the one, we keep hearing about was the Sunday May 23 at HOTO's in Cherry Grove!!!  This one was truly one for the books.  Eddy's voice was TOTALLY shot, so we changed the whole gig around and with the help of some fine patrons, a little rain and a few tequila shots . . . it was a classic (or that's what they tell us!)

Just got a call today from a friend at the beach who heard RED SUNGLASSES on 94.9 The Surf . . . pretty cool since it's been out, almost a year.  We've enjoyed seeing folks bring out and put on their RED SUNGLASSES when we play the song.

Gettin' ready for a good run through the July 4 celebrations . . . . . we'll be trying extra hard to top the HOTO's gig!!!  Come see us!

Great weekend at the beach on Feb 5, 6 &7.  The Marlin, satrted the weekend fun on Friday . . . lots of hard rain, but the party animals that made it, were jammin pretty hard w/us.  On Saturday, The Concord Reunion (SOB) @ The OD Arcade, was pretty cool, nothing but a good time with the 60's & 70's classes . . . felt right at home.  And Harold's on Super Bowl Sunday . . . . 2nd set was one for the books . . . celebrated Terry (Harry?? LOL)'s birthday w/Jack Black and some craziness, that we haven't seen in quite a while.
